YOH Screen Fest Live Showcase

YOH Screen Fest 2023What is it?

YOH Fest is an exciting, annual ‘Arts’ festival, that engages students in Health Education through the fun of the Performing and Visual Arts - and it is open to all schools across Western Australia. Our ScreenFest option enables students to take part on via a more flexible virtual platform.

YOH Fest creates a unique opportunity for young people, to explore important health issues that are highly relevant to them - and choose to express their viewpoints through dance, drama, film, song, or visual art.

Operating since 1998, YOH Fest has grown to become a trusted vehicle for effective youth health promotion, that sees thousands of students participating every year.

Traditionally, schools presented their creations at one of the live heats held across the state. However, we have since expanded to offer a digital option to increase accessibility and flexibility for all to be involved!

We are excited to present a selection of entries, showcasing some of the incredible ScreenFest entries submitted this year!

Reaching out to Regional WA From isolation we've increased our community engagement

YOH Fest has adapted to all the uncertainty and unpredictability sprung on us in 2020, by the Corona Virus pandemic - and from it, this ‘virtual’ showcase platform was created. This has not only allowed the Festival to continue, it has fortuitously also highlighted the potential and opportunity that exists - for all schools to participate from even the most remote communities across Western Australia. This has been an unexpected and pleasant surprise.

The wonder of our 2020 results speak for themselves. Well Done!

YOH SCREEN FEST IS RETURNING

Register your school for 2021. No-one knows yet, how 2021 will pan out with the pandemic. But at this stage, we presume the traditional ’live’ format will resume in 2021. However, due to the unprecedented success of using the ‘virtual’ platform - it too will be retained! This gives participants the option - of entering through either platform - in 2021. Registrations open 9th November!
